Visiting this Shine I was taken aback by the sense of tranquillity and calmness in the environment hearing the waves crash in the background. Above ground was the wooden shrine but below ground the glass stairs continued underground. As I walked in, I could feel the temperature and humidity change into a cool breeze and the sounds change as it reverberated off the narrow walls. Looking out felt so relaxing seeing the beach and the reflection of the stone walls. Seeing the mock-up at the Hiroshi Sugimoto Gallery was so cool being able to view the architecture from all different angles.
