Catching the trains in Japan for the first time and in particular the Shinkansen was so fascinating. Naturally being drawn to forms and architecture as a ceramic artist it was so captivating to see the design and aerodynamic form of the Shinkansen. The train stations were run so incredibly efficiently, with trains coming every few minutes in peak hour. Siting in the train I was taken back by how silent the ride was, considering we were travelling at 300km/hr.
